SAVE THE DATE: Guide to Community Involvement

How to Get Appointed or Elected to Boards, Commissions, and Committees

To serve on a Board, Committee or Commission can be a rewarding experience for community residents. At this orientation participants will have a chance to voice their concerns, raise questions, and learn from the experience of others on how to apply for available seats. Event participants will learn where the vacancies are in our county and the cities within the county.  We are confident this will result in an educated pool of candidates who are currently underrepresented.

WHEN: Saturday, April 14, 2012
WHERE:  Empire College
                 Santa Rosa, CA

The important process of civic engagement helps residents, policymakers, and local leaders make decisions affecting our city and county. Several local organizations have come together to once again provide a forum for the community to unite and also to effect change.

We hope we can count on your help to attend or spread the word; submitting names of individuals who would benefit from this event; or help with monetary support. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
